چکیده

With a common background and motivation, the main contributions of this paper are developed in two different directions. Firstly, we are concerned with functions, which are the maximum of a finite amount of continuously differentiable functions of n real variables, paying special attention to the case of polyhedral functions. For these max-functions, we obtain some results about outer limits of subdifferentials, which are applied to derive an upper bound for the calmness modulus of nonlinear systems. When confined to the convex case, in addition, a lower bound on this modulus is also obtained. Secondly, by means of a Karush–Kuhn–Tucker index set approach, we are also able to provide a point-based formula for the calmness modulus of the argmin mapping of linear programming problems, without any uniqueness assumption on the optimal set. This formula still provides a lower bound in linear semi-infinite programming. Illustrative examples are given. B M. A. López [email protected] M. J. Cánovas [email protected] R. On the Calmness of a Class of Multifunctions

The paper deals with the calmness of a class of multifunctions in finite dimensions. Its first part is devoted to various conditions for calmness, which are derived in terms of coderivatives and subdifferentials. The second part demonstrates the importance of calmness in several areas of nonsmooth analysis. In particular, we focus on nonsmooth calculus and solution stability in mathematical pro...

Multiplier Rules Under Mixed Assumptions of Differentiability and Lipschitz Continuity

In this paper we study nonlinear programming problems with equality, inequality, and abstract constraints where some of the functions are Fréchet differentiable at the optimal solution, some of the functions are Lipschitz near the optimal solution, and the abstract constraint set may be nonconvex. We derive Fritz John type and Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) type first order necessary optimality condi...

A Compromise Decision-Making Model Based on TOPSIS and VIKOR for Multi-Objective Large- Scale Nonlinear Programming Problems with A Block Angular Structure under Fuzzy Environment

This paper proposes a compromise model, based on a new method, to solve the multiobjectivelarge scale linear programming (MOLSLP) problems with block angular structureinvolving fuzzy parameters. The problem involves fuzzy parameters in the objectivefunctions and constraints. In this compromise programming method, two concepts areconsidered simultaneously. First of them is that the optimal alter...

A generalized implicit enumeration algorithm for a class of integer nonlinear programming problems

Presented here is a generalization of the implicit enumeration algorithm that can be applied when the objec-tive function is being maximized and can be rewritten as the difference of two non-decreasing functions. Also developed is a computational algorithm, named linear speedup, to use whatever explicit linear constraints are present to speedup the search for a solution. The method is easy to u...

Effects of Probability Function on the Performance of Stochastic Programming

Stochastic programming is a valuable optimization tool where used when some or all of the design parameters of an optimization problem are defined by stochastic variables rather than by deterministic quantities. Depending on the nature of equations involved in the problem, a stochastic optimization problem is called a stochastic linear or nonlinear programming problem. In this paper,a stochasti...
